Do Quakers have birth certificates?
The records of the Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, include births, deaths, marriages, migration certificates, and detailed monthly meeting minutes. Many of these records have been indexed or microfilmed.

How do you read Quaker dates?
After 1752 all months were referred to by Quakers by their number. September became “Ninth Month” and so on. Today some researchers find it useful to write down the old style numbers as in the original text, but add the new style names in square brackets, such as: 27 iv [June] 1731 or 29 4mo.

What was a Quaker removal?
The Quakers were fastidious about not allowing young people to marry if they had any prior promises or engagements to others. The meetings in Pennsylvania sometimes had to remind the English or Welsh meetings to send the certificates.

What do Quakers call the days of the week?
